A fatal shooting incident in Aliquippa has claimed the life of a young man. According to a report from WPXI, 24-year-old Gevod Tyson was shot last night and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Officials have confirmed that the emergency response took place at around 9:05 p.m. along the 1100 block of Wade Street, near Maratta Road.
Emergency dispatchers, first on the scene, found the victim with a gunshot wound. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office declared the following morning that Tyson had died, yet the motive and circumstances that led to this act of violence are not clear, as police stay tight-lipped during the ongoing investigation.
The shooting is now under the jurisdiction of the state police. In a separate coverage of the incident by WTAE, it was reported that Tyson had been injured in the leg. Police tape and several officers were seen at the location, indicating the shooting's aftermath and the crime scene under assessment.
