
In the morning hours in Carr Square, a 25-year-old woman was found shot inside her vehicle. The incident is under investigation and is being reviewed in connection with other recent reports of gun violence in the area. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred on last Saturday, when district officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1600 block of Biddle, which was soon escalated to a report of a shooting.
Responding officers found a vehicle resting against a fire hydrant, with an unidentified woman in the driver's seat showing signs of severe injury. According to an official statement from the police department, “She was barely conscious and barely breathing.” EMS transported her to the hospital, where she remains in critical-unstable condition. Authorities have described her status as imminent death. Her identity has not been released at this time.
The investigation has been assigned to Homicide Detectives due to the critical condition of the victim. At this time, no details have been released regarding a motive or any suspects. Updates are expected as more details become available.
