Oh London served its final meal Saturday at 11411 Olive Boulevard in Creve Coeur, closing a restaurant that had just weeks earlier earned a spot on a national best-new-restaurants list. The British pub-and-Indian mashup concept opened in February 2025 and shut its doors after owners Raj and Shweta Pandey accepted their landlord's offer to end the lease early, saying sales simply did not grow fast enough to keep the restaurant viable long term.

The timing stings. According to St. Louis Magazine, Oh London had ranked No. 13 on Yelp's Best New Restaurants of 2026 list.

Oh London had blended British pub fare, American comfort food and international flavors under one roof, serving dishes like fish and chips and bangers and mash alongside butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. The restaurant occupied a space previously home to The Reserve Restaurant & Lounge — a building St. Louis Magazine described as spanning more than 11,000 square feet, while Feast Magazine put the figure at 11,300 square feet. The space held several dining areas, a large bar and a private event room, and hosted Sunday brunches, live music, themed evenings, private celebrations and even a car show.

Sales Growth That Wasn't Fast Enough

Oh London's event and private party business kept growing, and general sales climbed consistently month over month, but the pace wasn't enough to sustain the operation. Facing that math, the Pandeys accepted an offer from their landlord to release Oh London from its 10-year lease, with the building's owner planning renovations and upgrades afterward.

The couple notified key employees ahead of the closure and provided them with letters of recommendation. The Pandeys wound down the restaurant.

An Oh London Chef

Pushwinder Kumar was an Oh London chef.

Pandey said he believes the chefs' efforts can take Gol Bowl to the next level. Kumar and Ayush are also expected to contribute to Black Salt, the modern Indian restaurant and packaged-food business the Pandeys built with partner Sanjiv Shekhar, as well as to TAPS Global, a food-technology venture Raj Pandey co-founded that is led by entrepreneur General John Michel. TAPS — short for Turmeric Assisted Pressure Sterilization — is designed to preserve food for more than a year without preservatives while retaining taste, texture and nutrition.

A Winding Road Through Olive Boulevard

Black Salt itself has had a complicated run nearby. The brand opened its first location in Chesterfield with Shekhar in 2023, then added a second location in Creve Coeur in January 2025. A line of ready-to-serve Black Salt Foods dishes was also briefly sold at select Dierbergs stores; Feast Magazine reported that the line was carried in 147 stores nationally, including 27 area Dierbergs locations.

When Oh London first opened, the Pandeys described it as a Western restaurant brand, according to St. Louis Magazine's original coverage.

What's Next for the Pandeys

Raj and Shweta Pandey are now planning a higher-end, 60-seat Indian restaurant in Clayton, with an expected 2028 launch timed to when their two children head off to college. Raj Pandey envisions an intimate space built around dishes, flavors and presentations less commonly found on local Indian menus, and the Oh London chefs are expected to help get that Clayton project off the ground when the time comes.
