A tragic incident on the roads took place yesterday as a 75-year-old motorcyclist met his end on SR-12. The Utah Department of Public Safety reported that the accident occurred yesterday, when the motorcycle, traveling northbound near milepost 101, failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the roadway.
According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, the motorcycle was observed moving at a "high rate of speed" before the crash around 12:17 PM. The same witness saw the motorcycle struggle with the curve to the left, leave the road to the right, and collide with a delineator post. The rocky and wooded area adjacent to the road was where the motorcyclist was ultimately found, separated from the bike and fatally injured.
The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Local authorities are investigating the incident, focusing on factors such as speed and roadway conditions, which might have contributed to the motorcyclist's failure to stay on course. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
