
A tragic incident unfolded on a Florida highway yesterday morning when a 54-year-old Apopka man died following a vehicular crash caused by a medical emergency. According to a report by WESH, the man was driving westbound on I-4 near Branch Forbes Road in Hillsborough County just after 10 a.m. when he suffered an emergency and lost control of his vehicle.
The Florida Highway Patrol detailed that, upon losing control, the SUV struck a guardrail and was redirected back onto the highway, then onto the shoulder, where it hit an embankment. The vehicle went airborne and overturned in the tree line, as WFTV reported. The driver was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The authorities have not yet released additional details about the medical emergency that precipitated the fatal accident. The crash and its contributing factors remain under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
