An audit by the Arizona Auditor General, released October 27, 2025, found that the Red Rock Elementary School District provided its superintendent with unauthorized vehicle-related benefits that may constitute a misuse of public funds. The report also noted the district failed to follow legal requirements for performance-based pay.
The audit highlighted issues with cash-handling, travel policies, and IT security. Specifically, weak password controls and lack of encryption put sensitive student data at risk.
According to Arizona Auditor General, the report recommends immediate changes, including stricter oversight of spending, updated travel policies, and improved IT protections. The district has not yet responded to the audit’s findings.
