Ascension Parish drivers are advised of a traffic change as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) begins a new phase in the construction of three roundabouts along LA 30. Starting the last night, vehicles were redirected into the newly opened roundabout at LA 30 and South St. Landry Avenue/Robert Wilson Drive, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announcement.
Starting today, traffic will follow a new pattern using the roundabout in a single-lane configuration during ongoing construction. Both South St. Landry Avenue and Robert Wilson Drive remain accessible. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development stated that the entire project is expected to be completed by mid-2026, noting that less excavation work will be required for the remaining two roundabouts near the I-10 ramps.
Drivers are urged to use caution and follow all traffic signs and speed limits in construction areas to ensure safety for both motorists and workers. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will continue to provide updates as work progresses on the next phases of the project.
