Atlanta Weather Update: Sunny Days and Rain Chances Ahead with Temperatures in the 60s and 70s

Atlanta residents can expect a mix of sunny skies and potential showers over the upcoming week, with temperature highs fluctuating in the low 70s and 60s. According to an extended weather forecast, today will be sunny with a high near 73 and light northwest winds. The evening is projected to stay mostly clear, dipping to a low around 47.

The weekend will start off mostly sunny with Saturday's high near 70, marked by an east wind around 10 mph, capable of gusting as high as 15 mph. Atlanta's night sky on Saturday will turn partly cloudy, maintaining temperatures around the low 50s. 

The National Weather Service advises a 20 percent chance of showers commencing Sunday afternoon, with an increase in cloud cover and a high near 65. Showers become more likely on Sunday night, with the potential for thunderstorms after 2 am and a 60 percent chance of precipitation. Monday follows suit, with likely morning showers and possible thunderstorms before 8 am. The rest of Monday will see a chance of showers amidst cloudy conditions and a high nearing 58.

Heading into the middle of the week, showers seem to persist, albeit with a lower probability and temperatures in the low 60s. Tuesday has a 20 percent chance for showers during the day, while that chance goes up slightly to 30 percent at night. The following days, Wednesday and Thursday, both carry a 20 to 30 percent chance of rain, with highs around 60 and partly sunny to mostly sunny skies, respectively.
