As Halloween approaches, Avondale is gearing up to celebrate with its annual Creepin' Candy Crawl, offering a slew of activities for families looking to get into the holiday spirit. The event, hosted by the Avondale Parks, Recreation and Libraries Department and presented by Avondale Toyota, is set for Thursday, October 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Alamar Park, located at 4155 S. El Mirage Rd, Avondale, AZ 85323, according to the city's news release.
Festivities include over 20 themed booths run by exhibitors and city departments, where attendees can fully enjoy the trick-or-treating experience and vote on the 'Best in Boo-th.' Besides the candy-gathering fun, guests can take part in free spooky crafts, face painting, and groove to DJ entertainment. For those feeling competitive, a costume contest with trophy prizes for the winners will be a highlight, with sign-ups available onsite on the day of the event. The contest welcomes both kids and adults to strut their Halloween best.
For discerning palettes or anyone feeling peckish, a selection of food trucks will be on hand, including Paloma Mexican Street Food, Cuties Lemonade and More, Elotes Frutas Raspados, and Dog Father Gourmet Hot Dogs. A mix of culinary delights ensures no ghost goes hungry. With the aim to encourage a sense of community and environmental consciousness, organizers are also promoting walking, carpooling, or using designated overflow parking areas at Lakin Elementary and across Alamar Road, as stated on the city's website.
