
Louisiana State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed 71-year-old James Rasberry of Hodge. The crash occurred on Wednesday shortly before 1:45 p.m. on LA 67 near LA 408, according to Louisiana State Police release.
Investigators say Rasberry was walking along the southbound shoulder of LA 67 when he was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. The direction of the vehicle’s escape is currently unknown.
Rasberry was pronounced dead at the scene. A routine toxicology sample was collected for analysis as part of the investigation.
The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab is assisting with evidence analysis. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle involved to contact law enforcement to assist in the ongoing investigation.
