Bay Point was the scene of a tragic incident this weekend when Contra Costa Sheriff's deputies were called to a residence on Solano Ct. in response to a medical-police emergency. Upon arrival at approximately 11:26 a.m. yesterday, deputies discovered a man suffering from stab wounds. As reported on the official social media page of the Contra Costa Sheriff, they provided immediate first aid until further help could get there to take over.
The victim was quickly transported to a local hospital, but unfortunately, was pronounced deceased later. Authorities have confirmed the arrest of a suspect at the scene, who was identified as Libelyn Utt, a 57-year-old resident of Bay Point. She has been charged with murder and is being held without bail at the Martinez Detention Facility. As per the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office, the Homicide Unit is actively continuing their investigation into the incident.
With no outstanding suspects, officials stressed that there is currently no threat to the public.
