
Boston is expected to experience unsettled weather today, with showers and possible thunderstorms before 2 p.m. There is a 90 percent chance of rain, with new rainfall amounts between half an inch and three-quarters of an inch. Patchy fog is likely in the morning, according to the National Weather Service.
NBC Boston reported that heavy downpours could cause ponding on roads and slow traffic. Gusty winds may reach up to 40 mph through 11 a.m. Although rain is expected to ease later in the day, winds will remain strong through the morning hours.
Tonight’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a low near 49 degrees and southwest winds between 9 and 11 mph. On Tuesday, conditions will improve with sunshine and highs in the mid-60s.
Another system is expected early Wednesday, bringing overcast skies and a 90 percent chance of rain. Winds from the south will range from 6 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. NBC Boston noted that cooler temperatures are expected to follow this system and continue through the weekend.
Later in the week, scattered showers are possible Thursday afternoon, while Friday through Sunday should bring mostly sunny conditions. Nighttime lows are expected to fall to around 40 degrees.
