In the heart of Roslindale, community ties were strengthened as District E-5 officers from the Boston Police Department and young members from St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church came together for Faith & Blue Week. Emphasizing the spirit of collaboration, the event featured an afternoon of pumpkin painting, a simple yet profound gesture of unity.
While many could witness the harmony of the day, the kids and officers, equipped with paint and brushes, set about their task of turning pumpkins into colorful art. With the BPD Ice Cream Truck close at hand, officers dished out ice cream, generously supplied by HP Hood and the Boston Police Foundation.
The Boston Police Department reported, "plenty of smiles were shared as everyone showed off their artistic skills decorating different themed pumpkins." The event was made possible by Gethsemane Cemetery, who donated not just the pumpkins but also the decorating supplies that helped bring the afternoon to life.
