
Yesterday, Boston police made a significant drug bust in Dorchester, leading to the arrest of a 39-year-old man. Lawrence Chaney Jr., from Dorchester, was apprehended after a meticulous drug investigation conducted by officers from the Drug Control Units of District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) and E-5 (Roslindale/West Roxbury).
Law enforcement executed search warrants at a residence located at 50 Columbia Road. The operation led to the discovery and seizure of 178 grams of crack cocaine, along with two loaded firearms with defaced serial numbers. The firearms were identified: a Walther PPQ and PK380, as reported by the Boston Police Department. Officers also found ammunition, a digital scale, drug packaging materials, and further evidence of illicit activities, including approximately $105 in cash.
Chaney now faces multiple charges, reflecting the gravity of the offenses. He will be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of defacement of a firearm serial number, trafficking of Class B substances, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and for fitting the profile of an armed career criminal at Level II.
