Boston Police carried out an enforcement operation yesterday targeting mopeds and scooters, resulting in the seizure of eight scooters and one arrest. Officers from Districts B-2, C-6, D-4, and the Neighborhood Engagement Safety Team (NEST) focused on motor vehicle violations as part of efforts to address safety concerns.
According to the Boston Police Department, during the Massachusetts Avenue operation, a scooter rider at 10:15 a.m. tried to evade an officer by weaving through traffic but lost control and fell. The rider, 19-year-old Raynel Suazo of Boston, faces charges including operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and refusal to submit. Suazo’s scooter was towed, and he is scheduled for arraignment in Roxbury District Court.
The police request that anyone with information about illegal scooter activity contact them.
