In an effort to connect community and law enforcement in a friendly setting, District E-18 has partnered with New Inspiration Church for a family-friendly event, just in time for the Halloween festivities. The Boston Police Department's website recently announced the "Pumpkin Painting Party" scheduled to take place this Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at their location on 1179 River Street in Hyde Park, as part of the annual Faith & Blue Week 2025. This event is specifically aimed at entertaining children ages 10 and under.
True to the Halloween spirit, participants are encouraged to show up in costumes, adding an extra layer of fun to the event. "Costumes encouraged!" the Boston Police Department urged in their online notice, inviting young and old to join in the seasonal excitement. Residents of the Hyde Park area, and beyond, have this opportunity, to engage with local officers in a context far removed from the typical police work—an initiative that seeks to break down barriers and encourage positive associations from a young age.
