In Brentwood, a burglary attempt was thwarted thanks to an alert police response and the digital eye of surveillance technology. The City of Brentwood Police Department reported that on Wednesday, at approximately 2:30 AM, officers responded to an alarm call at a local business on the 8800 block of Brentwood Blvd.

The responding officers, upon arriving at the scene, found an open door but initially no signs of a culprit within. It wasn't until the business's video surveillance feed was reviewed that a male suspect was spotted committing the act of theft. The suspect, subsequently identified as 45-year-old Mario Delgado from Brentwood, was located by a Brentwood Sergeant a short while later, not far from the scene of his alleged crime.

Delgado, it turns out, was already wanted for a previously issued felony warrant and was also on felony probation at the time of his new encounter with law enforcement. This turn of events led to Delgado being taken into custody and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking. There, he would face charges in connection with the burglary and for the outstanding warrant, as stated by the City of Brentwood Police Department.
