The Cambridge Police Department has issued an appeal to the public for help in locating a teenager reported missing since earlier today. Sophie Stein, 16, described as a high-functioning autistic female, did not return home and her current whereabouts are unknown. Stein is a student at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School.

Authorities have stressed the urgency of locating Sophie as quickly as possible. In their social media post, they strongly encouraged anyone with information to immediately come forward. Residents can also report any sightings or information to Cambridge Emergency Communications at 617-349-3300.

The Facebook post from Cambridge Police offered a description of Sophie, however, specifics regarding her last known location or clothing were not immediately provided. The police have not yet released a picture of the missing juvenile, which often helps the public to possibly recognize and accurately report sightings.
