In a routine crackdown on local crime, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office conducted a decisive traffic stop that culminated in an arrest and drug confiscation. The official Facebook page of the Campbell County Sheriff's Office announced the outcome of this encounter in Jellico, Tennessee, on Thursday, shedding light on the constant battle against narcotics in the community.
The incident involved a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado and its driver, 33-year-old Gabriel B. Mitchell, who was known to the police due to an active warrant. A search conducted by deputies during the stop led to the discovery of several baggies of material believed to be heroin and other suspected illegal drugs and apparatus. It was a scenario all too familiar, in which the car's interior divulges secrets darker than its tinted windows could ever suggest.
Sheriff Barton, leading the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, did not hesitate to publicly commend his team for their successful efforts. On the social media post, the sheriff's pride was palpable as he acknowledged the officers involved in this critical intervention. Their raid on the veiled dealings of Gabriel B. Mitchell served to cut another thread from the sprawling tapestry of drug trade infesting their streets.
Mitchell, after being detained, was transported and booked into the Campbell County Jail on several charges, including: Possession of Schedule 4, Manufacture, Sell, and Delivery of Schedule I drugs. In addition, he faced the Capias Bench Warrant out for his arrest.
