Drivers in Ceres, brace yourselves for some disruptions. In an effort to upgrade the local water infrastructure, the City of Ceres has begun construction work at the busy intersection of Hatch Road and Central Avenue. In a social media post, the Ceres Police Department issued a traffic advisory warning residents about the installation of a new water main that will require boring under the junction.
The scope of the project requires the closure of the left-turn lanes and the No. 1 lanes for both eastbound and westbound traffic. The travel disruption began yesterday at approximately 7:00 a.m. and is expected to continue for an estimated four weeks as the city works to enhance its water supply system. This may cause temporary inconvenience due to the adjusted traffic patterns. Detours have been implemented to redirect left-turn movements, marking a significant change in daily commutes for many residents.
As the city ameliorates its civic utilities, the Ceres Police Department advised drivers to evade the area if practical and to exercise caution while traversing the construction zone. While the endeavor is poised to cause temporary inconvenience, the completion of the project is projected to bring long-term benefits to the community's water service reliability.
