Carlos Marrero, a 26-year-old Chicago resident, has been charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder, according to local authorities. The charges come following a fatal incident that occurred last month, where a 26-year-old female was killed and a 36-year-old female was seriously injured. Marrero, from the 5000 block of N. Winchester Ave, was arrested on Tuesday, after being identified as one of the individuals involved in the shooting that took place on September 13 in the 3400 block of W. Wabansia Ave.
A detention hearing has been set to occur at 2600 S. California today. The Chicago Police Department reported that they were able to quickly apprehend Marrero near his residence. The motivation behind the shooting has yet to be disclosed, and the case seems poised to be fully unwrapped during the forthcoming legal processes.
