Tragedy struck in Colerain Township this Wednesday as two individuals were found dead in what the police are investigating as a connected murder-suicide. Local authorities were called to Owlcrest Drive near 6 p.m. to respond to a suicide attempt. They found 56-year-old George Coach deceased with a gunshot wound, as reported by Fox19. Subsequently, in under an hour, another call led officials to the Inn Towne Suites on Colerain Avenue, where 46-year-old Anthonyia Blevins was discovered dead, triggering a homicide investigation.
Investigators assert the incidents involve individuals known to each other, suggesting a personal connection between the deaths of Coach and Blevins. According to the WLWT, detectives from the Colerain Township Police Department Criminal Investigative Unit are leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Blevins' death. While addressing the findings, police disclosed to WLWT that no other individuals are believed to be involved.
The brother of Anthonyia Blevins, Anthony Lattimore, recounts his sister with profound fondness, highlighting her ever-present smile and positivity. "It's rough right now. It's going to be a process," Lattimore told Local12 in an interview. He calls for the community to remember his sister not for the tragedy that befell her but for the "love that she used to share with everybody out here." Funeral arrangements for Blevins are yet to be determined.
As the community reels from the shock of this unexpected violence, Sergeant Mike Stockmeier of the Colerain Township Police has issued a call to action, asking anyone with information to come forward. In speaking to WLWT, the Sergeant emphasized the importance of community assistance.
