The afternoon rain chance is about 30%, with most spots expected to see between a tenth and a quarter-inch of rain if storms move through. Anyone spending time outside should take the heat seriously, especially during the warmest part of the afternoon.
Overnight Storms Set Up A Rough Tuesday
Storm chances increase Monday night, particularly after 10 p.m., with showers and thunderstorms likely toward early Tuesday morning. The low will be near 73, and rainfall could reach three-quarters of an inch to 1 inch in some areas. The National Weather Service expects repeated storm chances Tuesday, including another likely round during the afternoon.
Damaging Wind And Flooding Concerns Rise
Tuesday could bring a high near 91, a heat index around 101 and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Forecasters say an organized line could produce damaging winds and brief tornadoes if conditions come together, while repeated downpours could raise flash-flooding concerns. As of Monday morning, no watches, warnings or advisories were listed for Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana, but the forecast remains active and could change.
Storm Chances Continue Through Thursday
Wednesday stays unsettled, with a high near 89 and thunderstorms likely before late morning and again later in the day. Another 70% rain chance is in place Wednesday, followed by more likely storms Wednesday night and Thursday, when the high should reach about 88. Several rounds of rain could leave low-lying roads and already-wet areas vulnerable to additional water.
A Cooler, Quieter Weekend Is In Sight
Friday offers some improvement, with a high near 83 and storms most likely before 2 p.m. Saturday looks mostly sunny with a high near 86 and only a slight shower or storm chance, while Sunday rebounds to about 88 with a 30% storm chance. Outdoor plans may have a better shot this weekend, but Cincinnati is not completely off the thunderstorm hook yet.
