Downtown Covington experienced a power outage early today, causing traffic lights to go out and resulting in minor traffic delays. The Covington Police Department's Facebook page confirmed the incident and deployed officers to direct traffic while urging drivers to treat intersections as four-way stops.
As of 9:10 a.m., Cleco crews had restored power to the affected area. The outage briefly disrupted traffic flow, but no injuries or major incidents were reported.
Motorists are reminded to exercise caution during outages. Normal traffic operations resumed shortly after power was restored.
