An off-duty Daytona Beach police officer found himself on the wrong side of the law last night after being arrested on DUI charges in Flagler County. As reported by WFTV, Officer Edward Lee, who has been with the department since May of 2018, is now facing scrutiny from the very institution he serves and has subsequently been placed on administrative leave.

The Daytona Beach Police Department, however, has committed to full cooperation with the ongoing investigation, stating, "This type of behavior is not representative of the values of the Daytona Beach Police Department, and the officer will be held accountable in accordance with departmental policy and the law," according to a statement reported by ClickOrlando.

While Lee is on leave, the Daytona Beach Police Department is doing its own review of the incident and plans to take it seriously, which could add to Lee’s legal troubles.
