Duxbury Police Investigate Overnight Crime Spree Involving Vehicle Thefts and Break-Ins

In the quiet early hours before dawn today, October 30, the Duxbury Police Department found itself contending with an unexpected crime wave. Officials have confirmed that a series of vehicle thefts and break-ins took place in various locations across the town. The initial call came just after midnight, with a resident reporting suspicious attempts to access a car on Walker Road. Upon arrival, officers not only confirmed the attempted theft but also discovered a vehicle recently stolen from Marshfield.

The incidents quickly escalated as officers received additional calls for similar misdemeanors. One witness observed a suspect escaping on foot, only to be picked up by a second perpetrator in a stolen car, leading to a police chase that extended from Kingston to Plymouth. The update also revealed the recovery of three out of the four reported stolen vehicles and mentioned that the scenes are being processed for evidence.

The police urge the community to step forward with any information, noting that the Duxbury Police Department Detective Unit is the main point of contact. The department, overwhelmed by the night's events, had to call in additional officers to tackle the over a dozen break-ins reported.
