Early morning commuters faced a snag in their route today as a crash on the southbound Turnpike in Palm Beach Gardens brought vehicles to a crawl. The incident, which occurred just before Exit 107, Bee Line Highway, was first reported by CBS12 at 5:30 a.m., and according to the outlet, has led to the right lane being blocked as of the latest update at 5:34 a.m.
While the exact cause of the collision has not been detailed, thankfully no injuries were reported at the time. Drivers navigating this section of the Turnpike had to contend with the bottleneck effect of lane closures, piling delays onto their morning commutes, and bringing the pace of traffic down to a sluggish procession.
Luckily for those still planning their day's travels, the situation was resolved by early afternoon. The Florida Department of Transportation's official website, FL511 shared an update that the crash site had been cleared with the ramp at Exit 107: S.R. 710/Bee Line Highway reopening traffic flow on the northbound side had normalized by 2:49 p.m., alleviating concerns of prolonged disruptions into the evening hours.
