El Paso Community College (EPCC) has recently garnered national attention, snagging several Medallion Awards at the 2025 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) Region 4 ceremony, an event celebrating the most creative and impactful community college marketing efforts across several states. The awards, which were handed out between October 22nd and 24th in Las Vegas, Nevada, spotlighted EPCC's prowess in the fields of photography, print, and video.

According to EPCC News, one of the striking moments the awards captured was when the EPCC Baseball team, photographed by Rudy Gutierrez, was celebrating a significant run against Western Oklahoma State College. The image, which landed a Silver Medallion, was featured on the cover of the 2025-2026 EPCC Catalog. Rudy Gutierrez, after waiting for the Tejano player, Alan Nava, struck home a run against Western Oklahoma State College, saw his teammates' elation, which all of a sudden they jumped in unison. "Luckily, I was able to capture it with my camera," he told EPCC News.

Moreover, the EPCC Theatre Program Poster garnered a Bronze Medallion for the 'Theatre Isn't Scary' campaign aimed at the fall course offerings. It was brought to life through a collaborative effort by photographer Rudy Gutierrez and EPCC Theatre Lab Assistant Colleen S. McCrary. As for the intent behind the design, McCrary said it "was a lot of fun," because of its distinctiveness and its engagement with the EPCC Theatre Club. The poster's visual language, by striking a chord with fun and inclusivity, helped set an inviting tone for potential participants.

The college's Mass Communication department also clinched a Silver Medallion with its heartwarming 'Where I Belong' TV commercial. The spot, featuring work produced by Lisa Elliott and Michael Head, tells the story of a young boy inspired by his mother's academic journey and aspiring to attend EPCC himself. "We're happy with the final project and the tone it had of invitation," Elliott said, as per EPCC News, who also worked with Michael Head, seeing the advertisement as a way to communicate opportunities available to student parents. EPCC Mass Communication Adjunct Instructor Michael Head, in echoing Elliott's sentiments, emphasized that the ad conveyed crucial information for both students and the public.
