An individual in El Paso County has been apprehended in connection with the possession of child pornography, following a discovery made by authorities during a parole check. The El Paso County Sheriff's Office disclosed via a social media post from Sheriff Oscar Ugarte that deputies had responded to a call at the El Paso Transitional Center this past Tuesday.
Upon arrival at approximately 10:35 a.m. at the facility, which is located at 1650 Horizon Boulevard, the law enforcement officials were briefed by a reporting party and a witness who happened upon the illicit material on a resident's mobile device. Ricardo Quintanar, age 39, was identified as the man accused of harboring the illegal content, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office stated.
The investigation led to Quintanar's arrest, who was subsequently charged with a parole violation. As of the latest reports, he has been booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility. The conditions of his parole dictate that he will be held without the option of bond.
