Deputies were on patrol when they spotted a vehicle linked to an earlier chasing incident. This vehicle was found near the Travelodge Hotel on Space Village Avenue, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. Their investigation led them to 42-year-old Patrick Duffy, the vehicle's associate, who had multiple felony warrants out for his arrest. Duffy was apprehended at his hotel room door without resistance on Monday, just after midnight.

When deputies entered the room, they met a female who gave a false name but was subsequently identified as 29-year-old Amber Adams. Also wanted on warrants, Adams attempted escape but was promptly caught. Her resistance escalated as she kicked and elbowed deputies during her arrest.

"This incident is another example of our deputies’ professionalism and commitment to safely apprehending dangerous individuals," El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal said. "Assaulting my deputies will never be tolerated. Their actions prevented further harm and ensured these wanted fugitives were taken off the streets," as per the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. Adams is facing additional charges including second-degree assault on a peace officer, false reporting, resisting arrest, and obstructing government operations. She is held on a $10,000 bond, while Duffy remains in custody without bond.
