Two inmates who were reported missing from the Federal Correctional Institution's satellite camp in Millington, Tennessee, returned to custody on Sunday afternoon. Samuel Thomas, 42, and Duwuane Rhodes, 28, were discovered missing around 3:00 a.m. the same day, as reported by Action News 5.
After they disappeared and later reappeared, Thomas and Rhodes were placed in the Special Housing Unit at FCI Memphis, which is used for inmates with prior rule violations, according to FOX13 Memphis. Officials say they will now be transferred to a more secure facility because they violated prison rules.
Two inmates who briefly left the minimum-security FCI Memphis satellite camp were the subject of a search by the U.S. Marshals Service, the FBI, and other law enforcement agencies, while the Bureau of Prisons began an internal review. Thomas was serving a six-year sentence for fentanyl distribution and Rhodes was serving a ten-year sentence for a methamphetamine conspiracy. Thomas is described as 5′7″ and 175 pounds with brown eyes and bald, and Rhodes as 6′2″ and 200 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, as stated by BNO News. The two later turned themselves in, and anyone with information is asked to contact the U.S. Marshals Service in the Western District of Tennessee.
