Evendale's Emergency Services team recently welcomed a new hero to their ranks, Firefighter Dominic King, a man whose dedication to service and community extends beyond the fiery battlegrounds into the hearts of those he serves and the family he adores, according to a social media post from Evendale Emergency Services. King, who joined the department in 2007, brings a wealth of knowledge as a former construction worker, along with a suite of technical rescue certifications, to the team.
But it's not just the high-stakes action that fuels King's fire; the camaraderie among his colleagues, where they share experiences and tackle hypothetical problems of the world over, shared meals, and plays a big part in his love for the job. A family man, Dominic's world outside the firehouse is filled with the laughter and learning of his four children who are being homeschooled by his wife, a woman he met back in their UC biology class and has since been with for 15 cherished years, it is clear that his heart is firmly rooted at home as much as it is in service to the community.
However, Dominic's contributions don't end when the fires are put out and the trucks are back in the bay, as he also moonlights as an entrepreneur, having launched a handyman company leveraging the skills from his past construction days. This duality showcases the relentless spirit of a man committed to leveraging his every skill for the betterment of those around him.
