A stabbing incident on Pine Street led to a rare dual arrest in Fall River on Sunday. At around 3:40 PM, officers were called to the scene after a male was discovered with multiple stab wounds in a car sporting several flat tires. The man, identified as Vincent Valois, aged 34, claimed he was stabbed at a residence on the 200 block of Pine Street where the altercation supposedly started, the City of Fall River Police Department reported.
The investigation, supplemented by witness statements and collected evidence, led the authorities to William Paiva's apartment, age 43, the alleged scene of the crime. Valois reportedly forced entry into the apartment, unwelcomed, and stole $100 along with prescription pills from Paiva. It was in the aftermath of this theft, that a violent confrontation spilled out onto the street, culminating in Valois receiving wounds to the neck and back, while Paiva reportedly took to slashing the tires of Valois's getaway vehicle, according to the City of Fall River Police Department.
As a result of the findings, William Paiva was charged on October 26th with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and malicious damage to a motor vehicle, detailed in a Facebook post by the City of Fall River Police Department.
