
Tragedy struck on US-6 in Spanish Fork as a multi-vehicle collision involving a truck hauling a horse trailer claimed the life of an 85-year-old woman and left others injured. According to KUTV, the incident occurred when the truck collided with several vehicles at a red light on Spanish Fork Parkway.
Two individuals were urgently transported to a local hospital in serious condition, including an 85-year-old woman who later succumbed to her injuries. A spokesperson from the Spanish Fork Police Department confirmed the severity of the accident, in addition to several others sustaining minor injuries, as reported by FOX 13. Tragically, among the chaos of twisted metal and shattered glass, four horses were caught in the fray, one of which suffered a broken leg.
The consequences of the collision extended beyond the immediate vicinity, with US-6 being closed from Canyon Road to Spanish Fork Parkway. As KSL reported, Lt. Cory Slaymaker stated that traffic was diverted onto Canyon Road, a decision made to facilitate the efforts of the authorities to investigate the crash site and clear the roadways effectively.
