Germantown's Great Hall & Conference Center was the site of a notable convergence of minds this week, focusing on a tool that's rapidly changing the business landscape: artificial intelligence. The Germantown Business Summit, held on Tuesday, gathered professionals to discuss and share insights on leveraging AI to enhance time management and efficiency.

In attendance were about 65 professionals, who participated in two panel sessions where local business leaders shared their experiences with tools such as ChatGPT. The summit, organized jointly by the City of Germantown, their Economic Development Commission, EDGE, and the Germantown Chamber of Commerce, sought to demystify AI and present it as a practical asset for modern business operations. According to a statement obtained by Germantown's own news portal, Economic Development Director Cameron Ross emphasized the speed of AI's advancement, stating, “We’ve all taken a moment to slow down this morning to learn about something that is moving fast.”

The highlight of the summit was keynote speaker Scott Finney, founder of Creating Value LLC, who is known for delivering AI-powered systems designed to help businesses respond with greater agility. In a quote from the Germantown news release, Finney stressed the importance of AI integration into daily business, stating, "Communicating with AI is now an essential skill. It’s no longer just an option.” He advised treating AI like a collaborative partner, providing it with goals, detailed feedback, and context to achieve the best possible outcomes.

The summit wrapped up with Finney issuing a challenge to the audience, suggesting they start applying AI tools to their business processes immediately. He urged attendees to get started today and do one thing new, signaling a push towards swift adoption and innovation in the local business community. This encouragement resonates with a sentiment growing increasingly common as AI technology becomes more ubiquitous and integral to a variety of industries.
