A gunshot disrupted the early morning calm at Oklahoma State University, prompting a swift police response. According to the Stillwater Police Department's Facebook page, officers were dispatched at 3:42 a.m. to a McDonald’s at 110 E. McElroy after reports of a gunshot victim. While performing life-saving measures, officers determined that the incident had occurred on the OSU campus.
Police later confirmed that the shooting took place outside a residence hall, not inside. Officers, along with OSU Police, located the dorm room connected to the investigation. The case has been turned over to the university police, with assistance from the Stillwater Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit.
Authorities have asked the public and media to direct inquiries to the Oklahoma State University Police Department at 405-744-6523. OSU Police continue to investigate, and the university has not yet issued an official statement.
