In an effort to address community health and safety, Gwinnett County Police precincts have taken a proactive step in managing unwanted prescription medications. As reported on the county's official website, the police department has installed NarcX® On-Site Collection Receptacles across its precincts, including the police headquarters, providing a secure way for residents to dispose of their expired or unneeded drugs.

The Gwinnett community, starting this week, can now bring their surplus pills, tablets, capsules, and even liquids into these receptacles. Available during the working week, from Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, these collection points are aimed at preventing accidental ingestions and environmental harm that misplaced medications can cause.

According to the statement on the county's official website, "This provides a safe and easy outlet for on-site medication destruction to help reduce the risk of prescription medication misuse, opioid addiction, and prevent medications from entering the water supply."
