A burglary at a licensed marijuana grow operation in Lexington, Oklahoma, early last Saturday, led to a high-speed chase and arrests. Deputies responded to an alarm on Box Road and saw two vehicles leaving the scene.
According to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office's Facebook post, a white Sprinter van failed to stop, prompting a pursuit involving deputies and the Purcell Police Department. The chase ended on South Green Avenue in Purcell after a tactical vehicle intervention caused the van to crash into a building. The driver was extracted by fire and EMS personnel, while the passenger tried to flee but was quickly apprehended.
Deputies recovered about 37 pounds of stolen marijuana from the van. The driver, identified as Deng James Magong, faces multiple charges, including second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit a felony, eluding a police officer, and trafficking in controlled dangerous substances.
The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office credited the Purcell Police Department, Purcell Fire, and Wadley EMS for their assistance. The investigation is ongoing.
