In a straightforward bust, the Holyoke Police Department confiscated a sizable amount of narcotics and cash last Friday. Police Chief Brian Keenan revealed that Holyoke officers made two arrests, seizing quantities of crack-cocaine, heroin/fentanyl, and over $4000 in cash. The arrests were made after officers responded to a gun call in the Hamilton Street area, as reported by the Holyoke Police Department.
According to the Holyoke Police Department’s Facebook post, the suspect, later identified as Adiene Santana, was discovered sporting two cross-body bags near 542 South Bridge Street. In the arms of the alleyway, Santana and another individual, Vicente Torres, were located by Sergeant John Veit along with Officers Edward Guerrero, Hector Rosado-Burgos, and Joshua Salas.
While no firearm was found on Santana, the officers did not waste time uncovering substantial evidence of drug distribution – approximately 250 vials of suspected crack-cocaine, around 300 bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl, and $3868 in cash were all confiscated from one bag alone. Torres, upon being searched, surrendered $744 in cash, a bag of suspected heroin/fentanyl and a vial suspected to contain crack-cocaine, as detailed by the Holyoke Police Department.
The two suspects face serious charges, with the 19-year-old Santana charged with possession with the intent to distribute Class A and B drugs, conspiracy to violate drug law, and trespassing, as reported by the Holyoke Police Department’s social media update. Torres, aged 52, faces similar charges, including the possession with the intent to distribute Class A and B drugs, conspiracy, and trespassing. The details of the arrests and subsequent charges have provided a glimpse into the ongoing battle against the drug trade, as per the Holyoke Police Department.
