Fortunately, the victim is expected to survive the ordeal.

The arrested duo faces charges that include Assault to Murder, Armed with a Firearm; Assault and Battery with a Firearm; Discharging a Firearm Within 500' of a Dwelling; and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card. Araujo, who was also charged with a probation violation, is being held without bail. Winbush's bail has been set at $100,000 cash. They are due for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court tomorrow, and the case will be prosecuted by the Cape & Islands District Attorney's Office.

The investigation prompted extensive collaboration between the Barnstable Police Detectives, with the assistance of Barnstable Patrol Officers, the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit, and Bureau of Criminal Investigations. As part of the ongoing investigation, several warrants were executed to secure key evidence related to the case. The Barnstable Police Department further clarifies that a preliminary investigation suggests that the shooting was not a random act.
