The Indiana House Republicans are accepting applications for their 2026 internship program, open to undergraduates and recent graduates interested in state government. According to Henry County lawmakers, the internships are paid, full-time positions running from January to March, offering participants hands-on experience in the legislative process.
State Rep. Brad Barrett (R-Richmond) stated in the Indiana House Republicans news release that the program allows students to gain practical knowledge of state government through direct involvement. Interns will work full-time, Monday through Friday, alongside legislative staff and state representatives.
State Rep. Cory Criswell (R-Middletown) noted that former interns often report improved confidence and professional skills after completing the program. Participants will rotate through legislative operations, policy, and communications, while also attending a weekly speaker series featuring local civic leaders and professionals.
State Rep. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City) added that the internship helps students build connections and develop skills that benefit them beyond the program’s duration.
