The Indiana House Republicans are seeking interns for the 2026 legislative session, offering college students, recent graduates, and graduate or law students a paid, hands-on experience at the Statehouse. St. Joseph County legislators are promoting the program as a valuable opportunity to gain practical insight into state government, according to the Indiana House of Representatives.
State Rep. Dale DeVon of Granger shared his enthusiasm for the program, saying, "Every year, I look forward to welcoming the next intern class to the Statehouse during session." He added, "I encourage any college student or recent grad who is interested in government or public service to apply," as reported by the Indiana House of Representatives.
The Indiana House of Representatives is offering full-time internships at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis from January to March, Monday through Friday. The program is open to students of all majors and provides experience in legislative operations, policy, and communications. Rep. Jake Teshka said, “Through the House internship, students will gain direct experience in the legislative process, learn in-depth about how policy impacts Hoosiers and build connections that can launch or grow a career.” Interns will also attend weekly sessions with state civic leaders. Rep. Tim Wesco said, “The House internship program is a great way for young Hoosiers to get involved and learn more about state government.”
