Jefferson Parish residents are advised that aerial mosquito spraying is scheduled for Monday next week, across specific areas of the Parish. According to the Jefferson Parish government website, Vector Disease Control International (VDCI) aircraft will conduct spraying from 6:30 p.m. to midnight, depending on weather conditions.
The operation will cover parts of Kenner, Metairie, Crown Point, Lafitte, and Barataria. If weather conditions are unfavorable, the spraying will be rescheduled to another evening.
The aircraft, flying at approximately 300 feet, will dispense an EPA-approved mosquito control product considered safe for residential, municipal, and agricultural areas. The equipment onboard will monitor temperature, wind speed, and direction to ensure accurate application.
Residents with questions or concerns can contact the Jefferson Parish Department of Environmental Affairs at (504) 731-4612 for more information.
