Norfolk Southern Railroad has announced that it will temporarily close multiple railroad crossings for track maintenance. The interruptions, commencing October 20, are slated to last until all necessary maintenance tasks have been executed, with each affected location being out of service for about 24 hours. The company clarified that the maintenance schedule could shift due to weather conditions.
According to the announcement by the City of Johnson, the closures will impact several streets, including Woodlyn Road, South Roan Street, and West Main Street, among others. During these periods, emergency vehicles will be unable to cross the tracks, potentially leading to delays in response times, which drivers are advised to keep in mind.
Specific locations such as South Commerce Street at West State of Franklin Road and LP Auer Road near McKinley Road are on the list of affected crossings.
