The Casa Grande Animal Care & Adoption Center is spicing up its exterior with a dash of community love, in the form of a new mural, and inviting locals to be part of the blend. The Center's Community Mural Kickoff & Adoption Event will unfurl on Saturday, October 18, from morning to afternoon, and promises to be a day charged with local color, communal goodwill, and the opportunity to welcome a new furry member into your family. The adoption center, situated at 202 E. First Avenue will host the festivities ,which pair the revels of creation with the joys of animal companionship.
Highlights for the day range from free dog adoptions to wallet-friendly $25 cat adoptions. In a generous move, sponsored by Best Friends Rescue, the free dog adoption offer is set to stretch beyond the event, from October 18–24. For those looking to ensure their pets can always find their way home, free microchipping ensures that ID is just a scan away. Furthermore, the AZ VET Mobile Unit will be there, running a vaccine clinic—an asset for pet owners keen on staying up-to-date with their animals' health. "We're so excited to bring the community together for this creative project," Cerise Shanafelt, Animal Control Supervisor, enthralled by the prospects of the event, told the Casa Grande announcement.
Amidst the charm of the event, the narrative of Casa Grande's dedication to animal care and the emphasis on the adoption of these companions will draw strokes across the Center's walls. Anisa Burke, a local artist, will be at the helm of the mural's creation, interacting with attendees as she lays her visions onto the concrete canvas. Guests are welcome to engage with her, inquire about her craft, and snapshot the artistry as it unfolds.
Joining forces with the Center, several animal rescue partners will contribute their services, enhancing the experience for both two-legged participants and their four-legged friends. Paw Posse, IncrediBull Stella / Stella’s Rescue Rehab, Aussie Pet Mobile, and Best Friends Rescue are set to participate, availing themselves for everything from shelter dog spa treatments to dog walking, kennel tidiness, and spearheading donation efforts. "Working alongside local rescue organizations allows us to expand our reach, provide more comprehensive care, and give every animal a better chance at finding a loving home," Shanafelt illuminated in the statement.
For those inclined to bask in a medley of artistry and altruism, the Casa Grande Animal Care & Adoption Center stands ready to welcome new and regular faces alike.
