Drivers in Bayou are advised to plan alternate routes as the LA 56/Boudreaux Canal Swing Bridge is temporarily closed to vehicular traffic due to a hydraulic system malfunction. According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD), the bridge remains open for marine traffic while repairs are underway.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has not provided a timeline for reopening but confirmed that an emergency bridge contractor is being sent to the site to begin repair work. Motorists are advised to use LA 57 as a detour until further notice.
