Las Cruces Utilities (LCU) customers will need to plan around a scheduled closure this coming Thursday. According to the City of Las Cruces, the utility provider will shut its doors for several hours on October 30 for an internal safety and team-building initiative. This temporary downtime is going to affect all LCU offices, including the locations at City Hall, East Mesa, and the LCU Office Center.

While running some team-building exercises, the LCU offices will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. These venues are familiar to residents, set at addresses such as 700 N. Main Street for City Hall, alongside the East Mesa office at 5195 Bataan Memorial West #2, and not leaving out the LCU Office Center found at 680 N. Motel Blvd. Customers who rely on Green Waste, Compost, and Clean Fill services should also take note that these will follow a slightly different schedule, exclusively ceasing operation from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the same day at 555 S. Sonoma Ranch Blvd.

Nonetheless, there's a bit of a reprieve for those who need to make utility payments. LCU has made it clear that traditional gas and water service payments will remain possible in person at the cashiers' counter on the first floor of City Hall.
