As the federal government furlough continues, the City of Lawton, in partnership with the Fires Innovation Science and Technology Accelerator (FISTA), will host a Resource Fair to support affected local federal employees. The event is scheduled for Wednesday next week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FISTA’s headquarters, pending the continuation of the furlough.
According to an announcement on the City of Lawton’s website, the fair is intended to help federal civilian employees impacted by the furlough by connecting them with local banks, nonprofits, community health partners, and other support organizations. Services will include financial counseling, wellness resources, and other forms of assistance.
The City of Lawton and FISTA are also inviting additional organizations and businesses to participate as vendors. Interested parties can contact Charli Hall at [email protected] or Kevin Carter at [email protected] for more information.
