This morning, the Livermore community was disturbed by a tragic incident as the Livermore Police Department reported a fatal collision between a motorcycle and a vehicle at a local intersection. According to a statement from the Livermore Police, the accident occurred around 3:30 AM at the Paseo Laguna Seco and Portola Avenue crossing.

On October 27, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Livermore Police Department responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection of Paseo Laguna Seco and Portola Avenue.

The initial investigation has revealed a 61-year-old resident of Livermore was driving south on Paseo Laguna Seco when they made a turn onto Portola Avenue at which point they collided with a 47-year-old motorcyclist traveling westbound on Portola Avenue, the two vehicles collided in the intersection, complicating the early morning traffic flow. Responding paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation by authorities.
Following the accident, the driver stayed on-site and reportedly cooperated with the Livermore Police Department's ongoing inquiry into the circumstances leading up to the collision. The roadways around Portola Avenue and Paseo Laguna Seco were temporarily closed, and traffic was redirected, causing detours through adjacent neighborhoods as the police conducted their investigation.
The Alameda County Coroner's Bureau will release the identification of the deceased motorcyclist after the next of kin have been notified. Livermore Police are urging anyone with information pertinent to this matter to come forward and contact their Traffic Unit at (925) 371-4850.
