A man has been fatally wounded in a shooting incident in Dutchtown, as initially reported by authorities on the early hours yesterday, October 26. The gunfire which claimed the life of the 32-year-old man occurred on the 2800 block of Gasconade, according to the SLMPD.
Upon arriving at the scene after being summoned around 12:30AM, District 3 officers found the injured man inside a house, with witnesses attempting to provide aid. Despite the subsequent life-saving efforts of the officers and emergency medical services, the victim, dispatched to the hospital, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Law enforcement has now engaged homicide detectives to take over the investigation. While details remain sparse, it appears from the initial inquiry into the tragic occurrence that the shooting took place outdoors.
